civil war Muster

On friday september 19 our teacher took us to van Raalte farm to see the civil war Muster. first we went up the hill sat on hay barrels. we sat there and talked for a while. then we listened to a lady she told us how it was going to go and how it would work. then we listened to the band and they were amazing i loved listening to them. then we listened to people that talked about weapons i don’t remember there names but they talked about weapons and how they worked and how they would protect there flags. then we sang some songs and listened to abraham lincon and his wife talk about what it was like when they were kids. after doing some more songs we did a rotation first we went to see what the houses had in  them when the war was going on i saw marbles and kitchen supplies and stuff like what the kids played with and what the moms cooked with and what they wore. then we went to the next station it was about how they had to carry alot of heavy stuff they told stories about the walking 22 miles with all there stuff on there bodies and people dying because they could not make it to the next stop. then we rotated again. we went to see the solders shot there guns and listened to the person talking about carrying them 22 miles again like in the rotation before that. it was cool to see the sparks come out of the barrels and to see the smoke. then they let us hold the guns see how heavy they were nd they let us ask questions. our teacher said that it was the first time they had let the kids hold the guns i think thats pretty cool to.
