We discussed that after the victory of the colonists in the Revolutionary War, they seemed to go through a phase that we labeled an “identity crisis”. Explain with 3 sentences why they felt at a loss with how to identify themselves.

I think that one of the reasons they went through their “identity crisis” was that they were afraid of how they were going to buy things. Now that they had left Great Britain, they could not use the British currency. They would have to come up with a different kind of money, which is now our dollar. Another thing was just being a little scared of being called a Nation. It was a big thing breaking a part from a country, and not all the colonists were quite ready for it to happen. The last thing I think, was just being a little unprepared. The Americans HAD had an army but now, lots of them were dead or hurt. I think they were a little scared that the British might not yet be finished with them. But they were.
