Interview 1- Mrs. Duran

• Ecuador
• Pizza is a snack, big meal with lots of meat and courses, rice,soup
• Christian family
• Dad died when little, got married, when son was 10 moved here
• Took vacations to USA, columbia so she was familiar with american culture (sort of) when she moved
• Moved for a better life for her son
• Had to wait 3 years to become a citizen, husband was born here (veteran), and son got citizenship right away
• Sister was already here, so she moved to holland
• Did not originally intend to become a teacher
• Doesnt like government in ecuador
• English was easier to learn
• Spanish is a gift
• Never felt treated differently until Donald Trump, and then a white man cut in line and she was super shocked

Interview 2- Mrs. Gonzalez

• Heard that was america was bad her entire life
• Moved to get away from government, doesnt get to vote
• Once people started to tell her what america was really liked she tried to get a visa
