Día De Inmigración
En el Día De Inmigración, a mi me gusto mucho poder hablar con las personas, y escuchar sus historias. Yo tuvo el oportunidad de poder hablar con dos diferentes personas, que tuvieron diferentes historias. El primer persona que pudo hablar con fue Dago, que era de Chile. Dijo su historia, como y porque decidió venir a los Estados Unidos. Unos partes cuando escucho su historia me entristeció porque de haber estado en la situación en que el estaba, no hubiera sabido que hacer. Tendría mucho miedo, y incómodo. De haber escuchado y poder estar a parte de escuchar es algo que no se olvidará, porque fue algo era algo tan chévere y interesante porque para poder ser aparte de escuchar sus historias y sus dificultades, pero también algunos de sus momentos más divertidos en los estados unidos , era verdaderamente increíble. Una otra persona que podría hablar con, fue llamada Kayla, y también era de Chile. Ella tuvo una historia muy única, porque nos contó en como Dios trabaja en manera que son tan increíbles. Su historia empieza cuando viene a los Estados Unidos y tiene que recibir su visa. Solo necesita tener su visa por algunos meces para quedar, pero le dieron en “accidente” por diez meces. Kayla nos contó que sintió que Dios solo abrió una puerta de poder venir a los Estados Unidos, y porque vino es algo que es muy bueno para escuchar. Decidió, y sintió una llamada en ministerios, y tener su visa por diez años abrió una puerta de poder venir y tener esos clases para hacer una. Dijo que primeramente quería ir a su país, pero si Dios llamaría hacia algo más que ella quiso escuchar su llamado, sabiendo que tiene un plan mejor para ella, sino el plan que se tiene para sí mismo. Para mí eso era algo que fue increíble oír, porque llegar a un nuevo país sería tan nervioso y no quería seguir el plan de Dios, sino la mía. Kayla me inspiro en una manera, porque fue una niña que estaba siguiendo el plan de Dios, teniendo miedo, y siendo incomoda, pero escucho y siguió el plan de Dios.
Desafio de consumo- Ensayo
Los Estados Unidos usan por lo menos de 500,000 de galones agua cada día. Pensarme en esto, me hace incomoda que estamos gastando mucha agua que no necesitamos gastar. Mientras en África, o Haiti tienen que caminar varios millas todos los días para conseguir sola un poco de agua para sus familias, para que puedan mantenerse sanos y saludables. También me entristece porque en pensar que cuanto estamos usando el agua, hay tantas personas por todo el mundo que están muriendo por no estar saludables ni hidratados con el agua. También en pensar y saber cuanto agua realmente estamos gastando es mucho, no deberíamos gastar tanto agua como estomas haciendo ahora.
Para mi desafío de consumo decidí tomar duchas de tres minutos, con agua fría cada noche. Decidí de hacer esto porque quería sentir el sentimiento que las personas en África, Dominica Republicana, África, o Haiti tienen de tomar las duchas frías cada noche. Además, no todas veces tienen el tiempo para tomar las duchas cada día o durante la noche, entonces causa unos días ir sin limpiarse. También quería sentir como las personas en algún lugar que no tiene agua caliente, como ellos tomarían una ducha fría cada día o noche, porque para mí, sería muy aburrido de hacerlo cada día. Me abrió mis ojos de poder ver cuan bendecido las personas en mi comunidad y en los Estados Unidos son, de poder tener el agua caliente para poder bañarse y limpiarse en un lugar sano y limpio. También, tenemos lo agua suficiente que podemos tomar las duchas cada mañana o cada noche. Durante que hacía mis duchas frías, mi semana fue muy larga y aburrida. Muchas veces no quería tomar ducha, ni bañarme. Muchas de las mañanas estuve muy malhumorada para tener fría durante la noche. Después de hacer todo mi desafío, y completarle por toda una semana, estoy feliz que hice porque me enseño cuan bendecimos estamos en los Estados Unidos.
Había afecto cuando tuvo que hacer algo como así. Mis padres estuvieron enojados y frustrado conmigo cuando despertaba en la mañana porque actuaba malhumorado cuando tuve que tomar esos duchas frías cada mañana o noche. Puedo decir que me abrió mis ojos cuan bendecido estoy, de poder tener electricidad de tomar las duchas, o agua caliente, o buen agua para que puedo limpiarme. Creo que ayudo de tomar duchas mas cortas y frías, porque no estuve gastando mucha electricidad de solo tener una ducha de 3 minutos, o poder guardar la agua caliente por las cosas mas importantes. Yo pienso que si todos habrían ser un cambio, o un desafío habría sus ojos también como lo hizo a las mías. También creo que tendría un afecto si todos habrían hacer algo como lo que nosotros hicimos, porque podríamos pensar o tomar nota de lo mucho que nos estamos perdiendo o gastando cuando hacemos algo como tomar duchas largas, o bastantemente el uso de la electricidad. Tomamos muchas cosas por gratis y que no deberíamos. Creo que en el futuro si los generaciones continuados habrían hacer eso, o algo como así podría cambiar al mundo por lo mejor. El mundo seria mejor y no gastaríamos las cosas que nos tomamos por gratitud.
En conclusión, si no habríamos tenido esa tarea, creo que yo no habría hecho algo como eso porque no hubiera cruzado mi mente, o no habría pensado en hacer algo como así tomar las duchas frías cada noche. Además, yo no creo que me gustaría hacer algo como lo hicimos porque no estaba seguro algún parte de diversión de hacerlo cada mañana o de la noche. Creo que no voy a continuar hacer las duchas frías, pero creo que voy a pensar en las situaciones que estoy tomando las duchas largas y también voy a pensar en las personas que no tienen el agua caliente y el agua que necesitan tener para mantenerles sanos, e hidratados.

Picture Book Advice
Edward-
1. Make sure you can put yourself in a position of a preschooler, think and write like one.
2. Make sure you describe your character, and tell the reader what her/he likes.
3. Length is really important, not to long or short. In between 10-30 pages long.
Fox-
1. Be original don’t copy ideas of well known books, be creative.
2. Constantly re-read the drafts out loud during the drafting process.
3. Don’t write about stuff that wont attract the reader in. Don’t write about a kite, shoes, or a coin. Write about something that will draw the reader in.
Montes-
1. The best rule on writing in any genre is that there are no good rigid rules. All rules on writing can be, and have been, broken.
2. Stories and nonfiction books must have a strong beginning that can draw the readers in, who have very short attention spans.
3. A picture book must appeal first to the editor, second to the buyer, who is usually an adult, and third the child.
4. Be yourself, and have fun writing. Be creative, and have you book stand out!

New Addition Dedication
I wrote on my rock, that God is our foundation. That he is our rock. I wrote that on my rock because I felt that we need to remember more often to not build our foundation on something that is not strong. It reminds me that to not build our house or anything, on sinking sand but rather to build it on our rock, Jesus. I want to be apart of the Kingdom of God, and not bring glory to myself, but instead try to bring all the glory, while I’m playing sports, or musical stuff, I’m trying to challenge myself more and more every day. I want to try to be apart of spreading God’s word, and even if its with around where we live. He doesn’t call us to go around the world, but just make and expand his kingdom!

13 —¿Por qué lloras, mujer? —le preguntaron los ángeles.
—Es que se han llevado a mi Señor, y no sé dónde lo han puesto —les respondió.
14 Apenas dijo esto, volvió la mirada y allí vio a Jesús de pie, aunque no sabía que era él. 15 Jesús le dijo:
—¿Por qué lloras, mujer? ¿A quién buscas?
Ella, pensando que se trataba del que cuidaba el huerto, le dijo:

Yo creo que todos deben de saber de la resurrección de Jesús porque es una historia triste pero feliz al mismo tiempo. Por medio de la resurrección y la crucifixión es muy triste pero por Dios nosotros podemos tener vida eterna. Se que Jesus ha conquistado el diablo y que algún día todos los que creen en el van a tener vida para siempre viviendo con el y otros que creen. Es importante que nosotros compartimos las noticias con otras personas porque los que no creen no van a ir a vivir para siempre con Dios. Nuestro tiempo es corto y solo tenemos poco de tiempo de compartir las noticias y creo que debemos de empezar ahora compartiendo las buenas noticias que hay alguien que nos puede salvarnos, Dios.
Reading Response
I have just started the book Kisses From Katie and I’m loving the book! Its about a girl, Katie, who does something so incredible. This girl, Katie, starts off like an ordinary girl, an ordinary teenager who goes to school and lives a normal life. One night without even knowing, her life would change with just one decision. On the night on her birthday she decides to go out to eat with her parents. During the fun night, she brings up a decision that she wants to do, and would eventually change her life. She said that she wanted to Africa to do mission work, the sound at her table with her parents drew silent, with no sound. After a while her parents responded with “maybe, we’ll think about it”. After a while Katie would just not stop thinking about Africa. Her parents finally said that she could go. On the day that she left she went with her mom, and the minute she stepped into the village, and the orphanage she instantly fell in love by the culture and the people around her. She spent two weeks in the village and the orphanage, and she knew that she was supposed to stay here forever, maybe. At the end of the two week trip she left in tears not knowing if she would return to this wonderful culture and the people. She knew as soon as she left Africa, she needed to return. So she insisted to her parents that she needed to return, and finally convinced her parents. She agreed to her parents that she would return to the states after one whole year. She went on the trip and she already loved the place! She stayed and fell in love with the place. She, in the story tell us about some of the journey’s and difficulties that she had during the time that she has been there.
There are a lot of sentences that I’m thinking of the perfect inference. One of them was when she said that she didn’t simply care for the people , she wanted to advocate them. I’m thinking for an inference and some ideas that popped to my head. On one part of the story says “I didn’t want to only love the children, but I wanted to advocate for them”. I think that its saying that she wanted to stand up for them, and she would protect them from anything that would be danger, or something that would harm them.
This book is absolutely amazing, I think, because it tests Katie’s faith, but she never stops to trust and follow God’s plan, which I think would be hard, knowing that you a in a country that doesn’t even speak your language. But thats why shes such a good example because she never stops to trust him. And she was obedient to God’s call that He placed on her life.
Egypt Project
For our Egypt exhibit, we were told to research about our topic. In my group with McKenna, Jake, and Hailey, we did research all about Ancient and Modern Stable Food Supply, and Religion. During this time when we had to a lot of research I learned a lot about these things. Some interesting things that I learned were: Egypt could not be there without the Nile River, it helped with so much, like their water supply, food supply because it would help grow crops and it would keep there water supply under control. They would dig ditches to make sure the water supply would be under control. Some things that I learned about Religion was about all the gods and learning what each of them meant to the people. I really enjoyed learning about all the fun and different things about Egypt!

Reflecting As A Learner
I am learning a lot in Language arts, like the punctuation rules and all the things that we need to do. Another thing that I am learning is a lot in math and learning the lessons and being able to learn how to do stuff such as histograms, box and whiskers, and much more! Another thing that I am learning is about all the earthquakes! I never knew that the tectonic plates were the reason to create one! In school Im enjoying learning about all the different things about Egypt. Another thing that I enjoy about school is being able to work in different groups and being able to bounce ideas from them.
I am liking that we are able to search up and learn some cool facts in social studies! And being able to read book that help us learn! I also like learning about all the things in band and learning new notes in the fun songs that we are learning.
I prefer learning working by myself, and being able to search up stuff, and taking my ideas and doing them in a project. I really like the Egypt project though, because I’m starting to like groups more and more and taking ideas from them and the group being able to help with the project and being able to not have to do all the work by-yourself.

Interesting stuff about “Steps to Ratify the Constitution”
What i found interesting about this reading was that some of the people from Philadelphia thought that it was illegal to write the constitution, and they thought that they didn’t hav enough power to write it. I also thought that it was interesting to hear that some feared that the president would become king, which they didn’t wanted because they were trying to not to be ruled. The last thing that I found crazy was that it took more than 10 months and to finish it that sounds like a very long time.
I believe that the colonists struggled on knowing who they really were because they were British their whole life. They always had someone to tell them what to do or somebody who controlled them. And without a leader (like they had) they didn’t know who they were themselves. This is very important because it is now what we call History.
Most important thing during American Revolution
I think that the most important thing during the American Revolutionary War was the battle of Saratoga because it was the first American win. It proved to France that the Americans deserved their supplies. And after the war was finished France finally gaves us their supplies. Also the battles of Yorktown because it was the war that we won for our freedom. And I also think Yorktown was important because we were fighting so that we could get our freedom and fought tell the end because we wanted to win and not be ruled no longer . The writing and signing of the Declaration of Independence was also very important because that is how we got our independence and we got to do things our way and not be ruled and told what to do. In conclusion these were to me the most important stuff because it was our ticket to freedom.
George Washington (the harsh winter)
The harsh winter was obviously harsh. The soldiers and George Washington almost starved and some of them eventually died. In George Washingtons letter it said that he needed food asap because they didn’t want to starve. And they wanted supply of stuff that helped them survive even more. In conclusion this was a very tough year but George Washington never gave up even when the british were more trained and they had more experience George kept on fighting.
Out of all the acts we have studied in our time looking at the road to the revolutionary war which do you consider to be the most harshest and why?
I think that the Quartering Act was the harshest because the soldiers walked in to the colonists house and the colonists did not have an option but to care for the soldiers. The colonists had to feed the soldiers three meals a day and had to do what ever the soldier wanted up to food, drinks, clothes etc. I also believe that this was the harshest because the colonists had to care for the soldiers and barely care for their own kids and themselves, I think thats a little wrong . In conclusion I think that this as the harshest because it was unacceptable for the colonists and keep in mind the colonists not getting a lot of money $ so they had to feed the soldiers and eventually got poor for what the soldier had been eating, and drinking and using the colonists money and the soldiers had there own room and the kids and the parents had to share their meal, and bed. And the soldiers got their own bed and meal meanwhile the kids and parents shared all of their stuff. And I think that thats the harshest act because the soldiers had whatever they wanted and colonists had to provide their stuff up to food, drinks, clothes etc.

A good book that I like is call “A Little Princess” it is a great book!! I have read it and it is about this little girl who’s dad had to go to war and the girl needed to go to a orphan home. In the end she gets reunited with her dad and the little girl is happy again!!!
