Iroquois

The Iroquois nation was in the eastern part of the united states, There were five main tribes that made up the iroquois nation the tribes names were: Mohawks, Senacas, Cayugas, Oneidas and Onondagas. The Iroquois, before being the Iroquois were called the Haudenosaunee. The Iroquois often fought the Algonkins, a neighboring tribe, over land. The Iroquois lived in longhouses, a long house with no windows, only a door on each end and small holes in the roof to let air in. Fighting among the tribes led the Iroquois to make a confederation and they called it the Iroquois league.
