Over the past couple of weeks, we have been studying and building volcanoes. The volcano that we studied was Mount Rainier. On our poster, we have some facts about Mount Rainier and also explanations of Shield volcano, cinder-cone volcanoes, and composite volcanos. We also re-built the volcano. (There is a volcano down below) We built our volcano around a 2 liter of diet coke and had a skeleton of cardboard and filled it in with paper mache. Paper mache is newspaper dipped in flour mixed with water. Then we painted it over and glued balls of paper onto it which represented ash, cinders, and bombs. We also labeled 7 things about our volcano. During the whole process, we put hairspray on our volcano to make it flammable. Because at the end we want to put the volcano on fire and then put mentos and pop rocks inside the two liter and watch it explodes.
