1. How does this parable remind us about God’s grace for us?  He showed us grace by dying on the cross for us and saving us even though we don’t deserve it.

2. Mark 9:35. What does Jesus want us to learn about being a servant?  That we need to be willing to be the last.

3. How are the world’s standards different from the kingdom’s standards? The world usually wants to be first and most important and the best. To be a servant of God you need to be willing to be last.

Chapter 5

The boat approached nearer and nearer to the island. When ht came Alec rushed up to the med that were on the boat and told them the story of how he had gotten on the island. He whistled for the Black to come. They all go in the boat and rowed away. The Black was a little nervous about getting in the water, but they finally got him to swim. They got to the side of the boat and they had to get the strap around the Black to get him into the freighter. Alec strapped the band around the Black but the Black kicked him by mistake and hurt his leg.

¥ chapter 6 ¥

In the very beginning of this chapter Pat came into Alec’s room on the ship. He had a radiogram in his hand. He said that his parents had sent him a message. He went into the cargo hold of the ship where the Black was. He started combing the Black’s mane. Days passed and they finally got to South America. He went and bought a ticket for a different ship to take him back home to his parents. Then the Black saw a different stallion. He started getting mad. The other stallion got loose and the Black started pulling harder and harder on the rope that Alec held. He finally got loose and the Black and the other stallion started fighting a very violent fight. The Black got the other stallion down. Alec calmed the Black down and got him on the ship.

CHÅPTÈR 8

Alec compared to me:

Alec likes adventures (obviously)so do I.

Alec is like fifteen i am nine.

Chapter 11

Henry compared to Alec.

They both like horses.

Henry is old, Alec is young.

Chapter 12

Alec was in school, in a daze. “Only 15 minuets until school is out!” he thought. Suddenly he saw his teacher looking at him. He quickly looked at his paper in front of him. Than he heard a bell! He rushed out of the door and was running threw the corridor before anyone had moved. When he got home he said to his mom who had already made lunch “I’m not hungry mom” and raced out the door to the barn.

Chapter 17:

 It was two-thirty as they drove into the freight yards. They found there train car and drove there van over to it. They loaded the Black and Napoleon into the car and put them in there stalls. The train started going. Hours later it was night and Alec still couldn’t sleep. Nether could the Black. He could hear snoring. “Jim and Henry must be sleeping” he thought.
