Outsiders Essay

I thought that the book was very well written and that it had a lot of very good detail. It was really cool how if you closed your eyes you can imagine yourself there. They used a lot of description where most people don’t describe as much. I like hoe it wasn’t a cliff hanger at the end and just gradually went down.

In the book and the movie the characters were themselves because they all acted mostly the same. In the book and the movie their actions were mostly the same because the big events were very similar.  The boys were all tough and thought they could beat up anyone. Most of them stole and some went to jail a lot. Dally was there all the time.

The movie and book were different in some ways to. The book went into more detail of everything and the movie was more plain. At the end of the book Pony is getting bad grades and flunking school because he went out cold after Dally died. The movie just cut that part out at ended it after day died. Also the book i thought made it sound like the rumble was inside but in the movie it was outside.

I agree for the most part with the characters the director chose for the movie. I thought Dally would be a little more tough looking like Darry. I thought Pony would be a little shorter because was was two years older then the next youngest and was taller then some of them. I think Bob was one of the best actors for that part because it reminded me of the book exactly.

Overall the book was way better then the movie it had more detail and more description and the people seamed more real. The book had more things in it as well. The movie just cut out things from the book. The book was amazing and I want to read it again.
