Desigualdad espacial
En los semanas pasadas nosotros hemos estudiado el desigualdad espacial especialmente en Mexico City y en Zeeland MI. Hay mucho que puedo decir y muy poco tiempo para escribirlo, entonces solo voy a escribir lo que puedo en el tiempo que tengo.
¿Porque nadie hace nada sobre el desigualdad espacial?
Muchas personas piensan que todos son en 3 categorias, los ricos quien trabajan muy duro, los medianos quien trabajan pero solo un poco, y los pobres quienes ni siquiera trabajan. Pero no es siempre así. Por ejemplo, el libro cajas de carton, todos en su familia trabajan muy duro, pero no pueden ni siquiera tener una casa. Pero, y hablo de experiencia, hay casos cuando los personas que no trabajan ni siquiera quieren trabajar, entonces por su puesto van a tener menos que algunos otros personas. No hay muchos otros razones cuando la desigualdad espacial es justo, pero esto es uno muy grande. Si damos casas a todos quienes no tienen. Y comida, y computadora, y celular, y mucho mas, entonces ellos no trabajarían y los que trabajan muy duro tendrán que pagar para todas sus cosas. Ahora tampoco pueden solo decir que todos tienen que pagar a sus empleadores mas porque entonces todos los cosas serán mas dinero entonces nada cambiara. Y si es solo trabajos que el gobierno paga para, entonces los impuestos de todos serán mas altos, incluyendo los pobres. Entonces hasta que alguien encuentre una manera buena para resolver la desigualdad espacial, no creo que hay algo que puedan hacer.

Que aprendí sobre la Inmigracion
El miércoles pasado (enero 28, 2015) dos chicas para hablarnos y enseñarnos un poco sobre la inmigración y el proceso para entrar a la E.E.U.U. legalmente. El proceso es complicado, difícil y en muchas casos, injusto. Tienes un buen chance de entrar a los Estados Unidos si tienes mucho dinero, education, y/o trabajo. Pero los personas que están enfermas, o que están pobres, o que no tienen educación no benefician a los estado unidos tanto entonces no es probable que podrán entrar a los estados unidos. Hay dos cosas mas que podrán entrarte a los Estados Unidos. Primeramente si estas corriendo de tu país porque tu vida esta en peligro. Muchas veces personas con estas experiencias pueden entrar, pero muchas veces no. Por ejemplo, si tu familia quiere matarte, no tienes ningún manera de mostrar eso entonces sera muy difícil entrar a los estados unidos. Pero si hay un grupo grande de personas persiguiendo a otro grupo de personas tienes manera de mostrar que tu vida esta en peligro entonces es muy posible que te dejaran entrar. Otra razón que algunas veces te dejaran entrar, sera si tienes familia que tiene visa en los Estados Unidos. Pero si tienes familia que no tiene visa en los Estados Unidos, no te van a dejar entrar.

Día de Inmigración
Para el día de inmigración yo hable con Kayla y con Silvia. Kayla es una chica al edad de la universidad quien vino aquí, de chile, por seis semanas para estudiar el ministerio y mejorar su ingles. Su papá fue pastor entonces ella mudaba de un lugar a otro muchas veces. Nos contó de que en chile ellos saludan por abrasar y dar un beso en la mejilla, aun si no sabes a la persona. Cuando ella llego a los Estados Unidos ella vio a un niño entonces iba a saludarlo como lo hacen en chile. El niño se asusto y camino por detrás. Las experiencias de Kayla me impactaron en la manera de que ella vino aquí, aun que podia encontrar un buen trabajo en chile porque habla el ingles, porque ella escucho a Dios llamarle al ministerio. Entonces ella decidió hacer todo lo posible para proclamar el nombre de Dios. De Kayla yo aprendí mas de que significa hacer tu mejor, y hacerlo para Dios. Sin pensar en lo que ella quería, ella hizo lo que Dios quería.
Silvia es una maestra en una escuela en España. Ella vino aquí porque la escuela en que ella trabaja es compañero de la escuela de Hope, aquí en Michigan. Silvia vino aquí por un año en el julio de este año. Como Kayla habla el ingles y el español pero se siente mucho mas comoda hablando en el español. Nos dijo que a ella le gusta bailar la flamenca en España. Lo que me impacto de ella fue su interes en nuestras vidas. Aun que nos respondió las preguntas y nos hablo sobre España y su inmigración, también nos pregunto preguntas. Nos pregunto sobre la escuela, el español, donde hemos viajado, el navidad en Michigan, y nos dio muchos complementos en nuestra español. A mi me gusto como ella hizo muchas conexiones entre lo que nosotros dijimos sobre nuestra escuela, festivales, viajes, país, y familias.

Mi desafío de consumo fue que yo no iba a usar mi computadora para ninguna cosa excepto por mi tarea y no usar mi celular para nada excepto por mi alarma. Yo decidí en hacer esto porque estudiamos el uso de la tecnología y en los estados unidos usamos mucho tecnología. Aunque yo sé que el tecnología nos es malo tampoco creo que es bueno para cada persona poder usar tanto tecnología, especialmente cuando el governamento los da tanto tecnología solo porque todos los otras personas lo tienen y ellos no tienen suficiente dinero para comprarlo y pagar cada mes para tenerlo. Aunque fue difícil para hacer esto, reconozco que en otros países no pueden tener alarma ni hacer tarea en una computadora. Entonces yo creo que fue bueno que hice esto, no solo ayudo (un poco) a la economía pero también me abrió los ojos a un bendición muy grande que creo que algunas veces tomos para concedido.
Como dije en el párrafo anterior yo cambie el uso de mi tecnología. Viviendo en los Estados Unidos y no usar tecnología puede ser un poco difícil. Esta semana sobre todo porque mis abuelos fueron a Florida. Me mandaron fotos y mensajes diciendo me que están haciendo para que soy muy lista para ir allí. ¡No podía verlos! También no podía usar mi celular para ver al clima por ese día. Entonces tenía que caminar por dos pisos, a la puerta y salir. Recién nuestro garaje entonces nuestro Pórtico de la pantalla anterior ahora es un cuarto calentado para los zapatos. Yo me olvidé de eso y cuando salí sentí alrededor de 60 grados. Puse una camiseta con mangas cortas y pantalones que no cubrieron mis piernas completamente. Cuando salí de real una hora más tarde vi cuan frío realmente fue. Regrese a mi cuarto y puse pantalones largos y una camisa con mangas largas. Esta semana no fue tan difícil como las de otras personas pero sí fue un poco difícil para mí.
Mi desafio de consumo afectó a mi porque me abrió los ojos un poco a como vive otras personas en otras países. Me afectó en una manera buena, pero no totalmente afecto a mi familia en una manera buena. Si mi mamá me quería alcanzar yo no podía responderle, entonces fue más difícil para mi familia cambiar los planes porque no podran decirme. Afectó a mi comunidad y a los estados unidos (mi país) en manera pequeña también, bajo, aun solo un poco, el uso de tecnología per cápita para esa semana. Podrá Afectar a otras paises porque ahora se un poco cómo viven otras persona en otras países comparada a como vivimos nosotros, y quizá Dios usará a eso un dia. Si todos hubieran hecho esto, especialmente por mas que una semana, cambiará todo. Aunque fue bueno para mi hacerlo para una semana no creo que sera muy bueno si todos paraban de usar tecnología. El governamento paraba de crecer, personas perderán sus trabajos, y será muy difícil para, por ejemplo, hablar con alguien en otra lugar. Pero si todos usan menos tiempo en cosas como Facebook o video juegos el consumo de tecnología será menor.
Si cambiando mi patrón de consumo en esta manera no hubiera sido tarea yo no creo que lo habría hecho. A mi me gusta jugar juegos en mi celular, y hablar con amigas sobre el computador. Pero estoy muy feliz que yo lo hice. No fue muy difícil pero si cambio como yo viví para esta esa semana pasada. Aunque estoy feliz que lo hice, no voy a continuar llendo sin tecnología. Creo que la tecnología es buena cosa y nos puede ayudar en la vida. Pero creo que usar demasiado es malo. Lo que si voy a tratar de hacer es disminuir el uso de mi tecnología. Después que hice mi desafío de consumo, no he jugado tantos juegos, ni chat con mis amigas tanto.

Desafio de Consumo
Mi desafio de consumo es solo usar mi computadora para la tarea y solo usar mi celular para mi alarma y para la seguridad. Yo voy a hacer esto porque los estados unidos usa mucha tecnología. Aun que la tecnología es bueno yo tengo por lo menos 5 maneras de usar la tecnología. Yo voy a tratar de no usar ninguno de esos porque no necesito usar todas esas cosas. Es bueno sacarme de todo ese tecnología algunas veces y yo se que yo los uso demasiado.

Math Update
Over the past 2 weeks the hardest lesson that I went through would be 6-5. I struggled at first with translating the words problem into an organized word and number equation and then changing it to a regular equation. While I was struggling with this Mrs. Pattnot told me to always write a multiplication sign above the word of so that you always know to multiply the number before the of by the number after it. The second thing that I struggled with on this lesson was remembering to convert the percent to a decimal before multiplying. This was something that no one could really help me with so I started to re-write the equation with the percent converted to a decimal.
Example:
Aaron earns a weekly salary of $350 plus a 7% commission on sales. Last week, his sales totaled $3200. What was his total pay?
Turn this word problem into a number and word problem:
7% of 3200 plus 350
Turn this into a number problem and then solve it:
.07 x 3200 = 224
7% = 224
+ 350

This lesson was important because it is something that in the future I could use in real life. Taxes are typically 6% in Michigan but they are different in different places. Another way that I could use this in real life is when I go shopping I and there is a discount or I have a coupon, I would have to figure out how much I get off and then how much I have to pay.

New Addition Dedication
What was on your rock. Why? ~ On my rock I wrote the words “Saved at the Cross.” I wrote these words because of freedom we have in this country. We are free to have a Christian School that in now expanding so that more kids can come in and be changed, learn about christ and have the faith of their parents become their faith. Here lives are changed and there are kids laying themselves down at the cross because that is where the burden of our sins is lifted. We are Saved at the Cross because of the sacrifice of christ.

Yo quiero que todo el mundo sepa sobre Cristo porque pronto Jesús regresara y llevara con el los que creyeron. Jesús resucito y conquisto todo muerte. El nos dio el regalo de vivir con el para siempre, pero no todos han aceptado a ese regalo. Jesús es nuestro Mediador entre nosotros y Dios. Si no aceptamos a Jesús no hay nadie que nos quita el castigo de pecado que es Muerte y sufriendo eternamente. También los ultimas palabras de Jesús a sus discípulos fueron que tenían que ir y proclamar el Evangelio de Cristo hasta los fines de la tierra. Yo también tengo que ir y proclamar el Evangelio.

Ancient and Modern Egypt are both really fun to explore. In school we each had 2 categories of civilization that we explored and made a museum to display our information. We took a survey of a lot of the kids in the school to see what they like to see and do in museums. The thing that had the most likes was interactive activities. So we had to include interactive activities.
There were many different ways that people displayed the information. My group displayed our information about technology with a video. In the video we answered 5 different questions 3 about ancient technology and 2 about modern technology. Then to show ancient writing we made paper look old and put out little pieces of paper so that the kids could write their name on them. Then we wrote in hieroglyphics on one of the papers and put it up for display for them to touch (result of the survey), we also wrote a sign above the page with hieroglyphics that showed the information. For modern writing we displayed a poem about the culture of Egypt and explained it. To make the museum more fun we added one more interactive activity. We made a ring toss and had a question from every area and asked one to the kids. If they got the question right then they got to have 2 trys to make it and if they did they got a starburst.

Reflecting as a learner
1. Right now some of the stuff that I am enjoying learning is in math. I am finishing chapter 7 which was mainly about percents. I think that math this year is more fun then the years before because I can go at my own pace. In bible we are learning of Jesus’ last hours. I think it is fun to dive deeper into the meaning of some of the things that Jesus did and said. Through that we can see how we are to respond when the devil sends thing our way. Also in my devotions in the morning I am studding some of the things Jesus says by predicting his death or the parable of the Tenants and then in bible we are studding the completion of Jesus’ prediction. In science I think that it is really interesting the way that earthquakes are formed and some of the different things that they can learn through earthquakes. For example, through the movement of the tectonic plates they can tell more things about the layers of the earth.
2. A skill that we are learned in Language Arts is how to expand and add more to a sentence by adding a subject Verb split to the sentence and give it more information. In health class we learned how to be physically healthy, spiritually healthy, emotionally healthy, and socially healthy. We also learned how to change fractions and decimals into percents. We also learned how to make and take a survey then calculate the results and put them into different types of ways to display them. Such as, we learned how to take the totals and put them into box and wicker plots, how to tally them up and write them as a frequency and how to put the totals into line plots.
3. In bible we did a video on Jesus interviewed by the sanhedrin and Peters denial. This was a fun and educational way learning to work the green screen and how to show others the things that we learned while searching our project. In Social studies we spent a few days learning how to search to find as much information as we can and then put the information on display in fun but educational ways to that kids can learn the information in an interactive way instead of just reading it. I think that I myself learn best while doing some projects and being interactive but when I do page work I learn better by doing the page alone instead of in a group.

Stress
In Health class we are talking about spiritual health and one of the topics that was addressed is stress. There are many things that can cause us stress but some of them that cause me stress can just be little things like when my little sister is bugging me and I am already annoyed or when I don’t have my homework done, or I have a test coming up. I think that with stress that is with tests or sports games the most stress in the few moments that there are before the event actually takes place. But with that kind of stress it often goes away on its own. The test is done, the game is done or I start to feel comfortable. With stress like being annoyed at my little sister that is stress that doesn’t always go away on it’s own. I have to have ways to deal with my stress. In health class we also are talking about how to deal with stress in a positive way and not make it negative stress. Sometimes I just walk away and that can be a positive way to deal with it unless I walk away really angry, then it doesn’t fix anything it just makes it worse. Some ways to deal with it negatively would be to throw things or yell. I think that some ways to make it positive have to be controlled really well or they will turn into negative stress. I could just listen to her and try to ignore her but then I might again get angry. Also for a test I can keep myself ready and study. Praying helps a lot because we can never do anything without Gods help. Stress can be a really good thing but we have to learn how to deal with our stress.
