Information and Reminders
Animal PBL: This week we will do research about our chosen animals. There will be a presentation for you on June 3 at 2:30. Please mark this date on your calendar.

Memorial Day Parade: May 27 Thank you to Kristi Van Dyk and one of the Timmers for marching with us this year.

Farmer’s Market and Kollen Park: Wednesday, May 29 Rain date: Wednesday, June 5 9:00am-12:45pm This is our last field trip. Each kid needs to bring their own sack lunch and drink. We will begin the day following a map of Holland Farmer’s Market and helping the children decide what to buy. We will go to Kollen Park to have lunch and play after the market. We will be back to school around 12:45. I am looking for more drivers for this field trip. There will be a dumpling making cooking class offered in Muskegon that will be taught entirely in Chinese on May 25. It is for any level of fluency. Check it out here!

Reading Strategies—notice features of non-fiction books

Writers’ Workshop:
We will use our writing time to go with our PBL. We will write about the animal we are researching.

Math
More practice with addition and subtraction.

Science
Sixth graders from the Mandarin program helped us typed the questions and then we will find the answers by using books, iPads and computers with their help this week.

Bible
We will learn about the early church: Peter escapes from prison; Philip and the Ethiopian

We will learn about the fruits of the sprit throughout the year. For the month of May, we will learn about the fruit of self-control.
