What I learned about food chains in science so far this year about food chains
Food Chains By: Ella Onstott
What I learned about food chains is that at the beginning of each food chains in the world witch theres a lot it always starts out with a plant a producer then something eats that and thats a consumer and then if nothing else eats that animal when it dies a decomposer comes and uses its remains as its source of energy (food). They get energy from the sun called Sun energy.
- Producers– are plant, plants that produce fruit which has energy from the sun
- Consumer– is an animal which eats living plants and animals. Some consumers are prey some are predator
- Decomposer- a living thing such as ants, insects, worms, and crows that eats breakdown animal remains for a source of energy (food)
Example of a food chain: Plant → Caterpillar → Wren → Hawk → Parasites
Example: Seaweed → Minos → Bass → Seal → Polar bear → Shark
Example: Carrot → Rabbit → Fox → Parasites
