Bible Blog Post

In the past units of bible class we have been learning about the Apostle Paul and the ministry he did. I learned that Paul had Roman and Jewish Citizen which helped him get out of trouble a couple of times because of his duo citizenship. I also learned that he was really smart because he had tutors. Paul taught to the Gentiles which were non Jews since the Jews already were educated about Jesus. Paul Risked everything for spreading the word and ended up in jail many times were he ended up writing some of the books of the bible as letters to cities. God worked through Paul who was changed from Saul when walking by Damascus. At first he hated christians and wanted to capture them but then he was walking to a city and was blinded by an angel and couldn’t see for 3 days and was taken to someone and he could see again and changed his life and he because Paul and began to spread the word.

I can relate this because God can work through people in many ways Big and Small. if its guiding you towards ministry that God wants you teach people about him, or just volunteering or helping someone that is in need for help.

Persecutions

Over the last few weeks in the Bible and social studies, we were assigned a country to research on for the persecution there.  Even though the Christianity percentage is more than half persecution happens most on the island of Zanzibar, 90% is Islam so they do anything to stop the Christians from worshiping. The main way that they persecute is setting their church on fire but other ways are hurting or messing with their possessions.

we can help by praying or donating to them

Below I have the poster that our group made

Spaghetti Tower Science Project

Our Group decided to call our company Spaghetti Homes Inc and we named the tower Eagle’s Nest because of the architect design a top of the tower. Our tower was 10×10 cm base and 43 cm tall. We took 3 areas of knowledge that we found from websites we found out that we needed these 3 things. First, from research, our group found that if you put the spaghetti stick in as deep as you can to the mini marshmallow so when it hardened that night it would have as much support and will have good support at the base. Second, it said to make triangles or an X to make it as well of a structure in hope of holding it secure for 10 seconds. Last we used how we got the word nest for the top where the egg will set securely during the earthquake Simulation. In conclusion, we made it through the 10-second test and managed to have nothing fall apart or break.

Math Project

My group used A2+B2=C2 to find how long it would be in the air to the food plot area. Our group’s equation and method is below

A2+B2=C2

5^2+15^2=c2

25+225=

√250

15.8 yards =47.8 feet

Theme Writing

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world. I first remember I think in 4th grade of how does the future 8th grade class pick the theme and how does it go perfect with the chapels, We went to Church and then we got into small groups and we thought and prayed about it and our group said 1 John 4: 10 our now theme verse came to mind and we thought that we don’t always love God but he loves us and he sent his son for our sins.   can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world

I can show this theme many ways at school, by being good examples to the lower grade levels to show them how to be good example. We can help younger kids on the playground and be inclusive to them and play a game with them. Finally as a school we can look out and be aware of kids and not trample them and ignore and maybe in the halls or outside we could say Hello and make people in a grade below ours day!

As Christians, we can also show this theme to the world, by showing the love of Jesus wherever you go if it’s the store, a sports event or at school or to a complete stranger. Even the little things like at the store if you are behind someone who drops an item you could be nice enough to pick up that and put it back in their cart, or at a sports event I can maybe sit with a kid who maybe doesn’t have many friends instead of your personal group and invite them into your conversation. Another way is as simple of saying Hello or good morning to a person that you pass that looks like they are having a bad day or even get in the habit that if they are having a great day or a terrible day and who knows you could make there day way better.

We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world. By taking time to care about others and watch out for younger kids on the playground and instead of blowing past them maybe take time to say Hello to them and make their day! Finally we can share the word of God by being good examples to others.

Boat

Our first trial we had a little issue with the sail so we got a DNF, but today after a test run we look to get a better run. What happened is that the sail snapped in half so it was unbalanced.

What I did this Summer!

This summer we moved to a rental house for a bit. That next week we got on a plane and went to Salt Lake City, Utah, we rented a big house for our family reunion and we had tones of fun. We went downhill biking and ate Ice Cream, and saw family from England and California. After we got home from that I learned to surf and got better at wake boarding. we had a lot of fun at our cottage with cousins. My dad and I watched a Tottenham Hotspur versus Manchester city in Nashville, Tennessee, we ate very good food and woke up early to go back to the airport. Our family went to Detroit for a couple of days to see cousins and get a tour of the city but the main building we wanted to do was closed for renovations. I went to my grandparents house a lot in Grand Rapids and I mowed their lawn when they where on vacation. My soccer team played in a tournament in Portage and we won after a HOT weekend! That was the main highlights of the summer!

Africa

Africa

Today we did a group thing all morning and we talked about Africa. We played a game on who is from what countries and that was a great way to understand it, then we did something with cards that we used them to see what percent of people would have access to phones or medicine and language. Nigeria has over 521 languages that are spoken and most people speak more than 1 of them fluently.

The Eagle Huntress

Today after we got back from Sagutuck we watched the movie The Eagle Huntress. It was about when a 13 year old Mongolian girl wants to an eagle hunter (witch is considered a men’s sport) so she practices and then goes to an event and wins and all the older people don’t agree with her and is negative and says she is not a real hunter till she gets a fox. The next day she goes out with her father and after multiple tries finally catches a fox with her eagle

Film festival 2017

Today we watched a few short films in saugatuck at there film festival that goes around the country and this week in Michigan and we were invited go and watch as a 7th grade.

The first one was about the solar system and how people went out and made a scale model of the solar system.

The next one was about how people were looking  for wolverines in Utah, they ran back and forth to look for camera footage.

Then they were these 2 rock climbers that went to this cave and climbed to the top at age 14 and 15.

Birmingham movie reflection

Yesterday we as a class watched a movie about what happened in the the early 1960s.  I learned about what bad things the police, firefighters and residents did in that certain area and all over the south. It made me feel bad that American would do such bad things to human like them but with different skin colors.

Living on $1

Today we watched a movie called Living on one dollar. It was about when 4 college students went a Guatemala in a poor village. They lived on one dollar and they tried to live as close to the poverty line as possible. One of the people got sick and didn’t have money for medicine… if he was one of the people that lived there he would have died so they had to use money out of there emergency  funds. They met people that give up there money to welcome them when they had near to nothing.
