Thank You Mr. Falker

Thank You Mr. Falker is about a young girl who struggled in school. When Trisha’s classmates laughed at her when she said a word wrong, God made us different for a reason.
You could be good at reading or sports or spelling, God made everyone for a different purpose. For example God could make your talent for reading or spelling.Trisha struggled until she was in 5th grade. Her new teacher was Mr. Falker. Mr Falker wore a dress coat and a tie. When ever someone laughed at Trisha Mr. Falker would discipline them. That still didn’t matter to the other students. They would still pick on her. Trisha was too scared to even go out for recess. She ended up hiding under the stairs. Right before recess she would go to the bathroom and sneak into the staircase. the first couple of days it worked but after that the meanest boy followed her and pulled her out and said “hey chicken I found your hiding place.” To her relief she heard footsteps coming towards her to her relief it was Mr. Falker. Mr Falker took the boy by his arm and said “you will not have to worry about him for a while.”

Another reason Mr. Falker helped Trisha was that when she got discouraged in school Mr. Falkler would encourage her to keep trying and not give up. In life sometimes you just want to give up, but there is always someone that can encourage you to not give up. For example Trisha had a time after school when she just wanted to give up writing letters but Mr. Falkler was there to encourage her the whole time. Even in our life there is people that can help us like brothers, Sisters, Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, Teachers you get the picture. Trisha was discouraged when her writing on the chalkboard didn’t look right, Mr. Falker was right there to encourage her to keep trying. I’ve learned to not give on school work even if it is hard I know that I have friends to encourage me to keep trying and not to give up.

Another way Mr. Falkler helped Trisha is that everyone is not perfect. For example Trisha is not perfect in reading. Maybe you are not the best in math or you are not the best in reading like Trisha. God made us perfect for a reason. Life would be boring if everyone in the world was identical you can’t tell people apart. If we were identical you would not be special and if you were not special you will not have your own special personalities. God made Trisha with her own personalities it does not matter if you are not the best at a subject or really good at a subject. God made us special in his image.

Dangerous Journey

My Dangerous Journey
by
Luke H.

This year Mr. Bouman read two books called Dangerous Joinery and Pilgrims Progress. In the two books Christian faces temptation by Apollyon, the Deceiver, Giant Despair + Wife, Lucre, Worldly Wisemen. This makes me think that we are on a dangerous journey to the Celestial City because we will face temptation. I have learned to choose the hard but right way.
Christian started in the City of Destruction with a burden which is his sins. I like how John Bunyan wrote this story to tell us that we are on a Dangerous Journey to the Celestial City. Christian faced hard temptations like Lucera. Lucera tempted Christian to go in his mine and said “Hey want to become rich” “go in my mine shaft you will become rich.” Christian skipped the Mineshaft. I’ve learned that in my life I will face many temptations. I hope I can avoid those temptations and choose the hard but right way to the Celestial City. Sometimes Christian will take the easy way to the Celestial city. There could be times when I would want to take the easy way, but these books Mr. Bouman read taught me to go the hard but right way to the Celestial City. Another person that helped Christian was Helpful, Helpful helped Christian in Giant Despair’s castle in the dungeon when the Giant’s wife said “here is your food” but it was not food it was a jug of poison, a knife, and a hanging rope. After a few days of no food no water Christian was losing hope. He even had the jug of poison in his hand when Hopeful realized it and said to Christian “Don’t give up lets sing a hymn.”
The final and most important thing I was reminded of from these books is that through Christ Jesus my sins have been washed away. Christian ended up in the Celestial City, and I will be there too.
