Christmas

Presents stacked up to the sky

A tree that is as tall as Mt. Everest

Ornaments shinier than a diamond

Theres more hot chocolate than there is water in Lake Michigan

Warping paper every where

The whole room is filler with red and green

Santa who weighs more than 3 tons

By the end of the day

You have more than a 100 presents

My dad is the motor, he keeps the family moving and running.

My mom is the cushion of the seat, she comforts everybody in the family.

Jory is the leather, she is the fashion of the family.

My brother Noah is the radio, he is the musical one.

Probabilty

In the last 2 weeks we were learning the probabilty in math. We had to do a project/carnival based on probabilty. So our group decided to fill up a fish tank with water and put shish in there, and we put paper all over the fish tank so nobody could see the fish. Then they would have to pull up a cupp out of the water and see if they got a fish or not. Well first of all I didnt know what probabilty was. So I learned what it was, and also it is abou tthe percentage of what you are going to get. It is differnt because we are doing a project. I think that it is better to learn it in imath because thsi you were more focased on what your project was going to be.

European Unit

We played a game in social studies where you would go through customs in each country to get a bumper sicker. It was very frusterating to go through all the costumes when your a tourist because if you want to go through a counrty to get to the other one you still have to go through customs. I would change that you don’t have to customs when you are just passing through a differnt country.

1. The houses in Mexico are differn’t then here because some of ours have basements but in Mexico they don’t becasue they don’t have a as high of an elevation as we do.

2. Mexico City is a very spreaded out city compared to like Detroit. Detroit looks more spread out because there are other big citys around it.

3. Mexico city has a lot of forest around it. But like Detroit dosen’t.

4. They are kind of the the same because all big citys have a rich side and a poor side.

5. They both have some pretty big buildings

6. They both dont have really good roads.

Cattle Ranchers Use of Land

I think that the cattle rancher have the right to be in the amazion rain forest. Because we make 1.5 Billion dollars a year from all of the meat. That can pay all of the debts and take care of all of there citizens. I know that the Native Amizonians and the Environmentalists that they don’t do any harm to the rain forest but ho wmuch money are they making? They aren’t making anything. So you might as well give the rain forest to someone that is going to use for money.

We have a better reason in this arugment because we need the space to raise cows. And the more cows u raise the more money you get. All of the other groups don’t need it and they don’t raise as much money as the cattle ranchers do. We can pay all of the debts and take care of people with that money. The Native Amazonians don’t get to be there cause they don’t make any money out of this. You might as well just have the forest for a reason not just hunt and gather for themselves. We can pay the debts and take care of the people.

Immigration Day

I thought immigration was the best day of the year so far. It was awesome to listen to all the stories that the people told us. One of the stories that Thong Chow told us was when he was at night and they had a light in their hand with bamboo in the other hand and they would see mice and hit it with the bamboo and then they would skin it and cook it over a fire and that would be their meal for the day. They also couldn’t go to school because they wanted them to work in the rice fields all day, and they would’t get payed at all. That just was one of the highlights of my day to hear that story. It was very interesting to hear his story.

This day was important to me because now I can see that there are other people around the world that go through this same thing. They have to wait a long time to get their visa or green card. This Opened my eyes and noticed that we think we are the only ones in the world and we just think of our selves. But other people in other countries go through a really hard time of not having any opportunity, freedom, the choice of religion.

This changed my perspective on the world on how we should look at other countries and how hard it is to immigrate into our country. And also just not that but other counties they force you to work when you are a kid and you can’t go to school. So that just changed me to not think just about me but other people.

Math

I think I had a hard time on 3-2 when we had to multiplye decimales. I figures that I was not putting the decimal in the right spot. Then my mom explaned to me that all you have to do is just count the number of numbers behind the decimal and you would start behind the number you got after you did the problom and go left and count where the decimal would go.

Example:

2.11 x 43 = 9,073

so then there would be 2 behind the decimal so it would be 90.73

Bob earns 8.28 dollars a day he wants to know how much he gets a week?

8.28 x 7 = 5,796

There is 2 numbers behind the decimal so it would be 50.96

As I look at the pictures and read the stories in the newspaper from after 9/11 It looks like it was devestating for the familys of the people how were in the building. I feel like it was hard for people who didnt have any people in 9/11. I dont know what to say but how hard it has to be to loss somebody that you.

I thought one thing that was insristing was where I was reading a story and there were people that where christians that were praying and then the people came to attack and they still keep on praying. I thought that was really cool. I was reading a other story where there was this one guy his name is Lee and he got a bible from a person and that helped him out through his life and he grew a stronger christian. I am glad to be in a country that will accept anyone who comes in and also glad that we can belive in what we can. I am going to help out with this by helping out other people that don’t know about God. Or tell more people about God.

Right now I am reading Game Changer. It is a book about Kirk Cousins. I am at a part where he talks about good decisions. He talks about the good QB’s in the NFL like Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, and talks there good QB’s because they make good decisions. He also says that we should make good decisions. Kirk also talks about his play book and says it’s huge.

I can tell that kirk is a good QB, because he talks about the playbook and that you should make good decisions. Kirk said this thing at his camp and said you should make good decisions and good stuff will happen. I also can tell that Kirk is close to God, because he talks that you should trust in God then something good will happen.

I can tell that Kirk is really focused on his job, because he says he studies the play book a lot. witch I would to but not as much as him.

I like this book because I can relate to stuff when I was at his camp. He talks a lot about the stuff in the book when we were at camp. This book makes me feel closer to God. One because it feels like I am given a sermon. Second the whole book is about lessons and about God. Thats the book that I am reading hope you like it. 🙂

Egypt Project

There is a lot of stuff to know about ancient and mordern egyption writing. Same with ancient and modern egyption technolgy. The time line wich is on the left was about the writing and Arabic and some other lauguegs.

The game in the middle is really cool. There are some questions about modern writing. On the left is a pyramid it shows the technolgy they used with the pyramids with the ramos to get the blockes up to bouild the pyramid.

Reflecting As a Learner

1. I’m enjoying science right now. We are learning about earthquakes and how the plates move and the layers of the earth. The plates move because of the heat underground, and it does a cycle under ground. On Wednesday we did something with a boiled egg. The shell was the crust of the earth, the egg white was the mantle, and the yoke was the core of the earth.

2.I just learnd how to do a box and wiskers plot, and a line plot in math class. Some of the plots are easy some are hard. It is kind of a fun thing to do in class.

3. I think I learn well when the teacher explains everything in front of the class. I can also learn in a group but I think I learn better in a class room. Because I am by my self and there are no distractions around me. If I work in a group it is hard because there are no teachers around sometime so you get off topic.
