Field Trip: Wednesday, October 17 DeGraaf Nature Center at 9:30am. We will spend most of the time outside. Please dress your child for the weather and have your child wear outdoor shoes. We will leave school at 9:00. Thank you to Becky Haveman, Melissa Wire for driving the field trip. Please bring all the boosters you have. We will need 2 more drivers. Curriculum

Language Arts
We will be working on recognizing color words.
We will spend this week and next week to learn the first week content of add.a.lingua Framework which includes mentor texts, a poem, grammar, words to recognize and words to produce.

Reading:
We will talk about three ways to read a book: read the picture, read the words and retell story.

Math
We will practice counting number 1-10 and continue learning objects and numbers through 5.
We will continue learning attributes of triangle, circle and square.

Science
We will make popcorn and use our five senses to investigate the popcorn. We will also use hand lens to observe the natural world.

Bible
The story of Babel; Abraham’s call; Abraham and the covenant; Isaac’s birth
We will learn about the fruits of the sprit throughout the year. For the next few weeks, we will learn about the fruit of love.
