Thank You Mr. Falker By: Ella

“Knowledge is as Sweet as Honey.”

Think of what it would be like if words and letters were just big blobs. Well thats how it was for Trisha. Her grandpa always told her “Knowledge is as sweet as honey.” Her grandfather told that to her before she started school, it would also make her feel good inside. She did struggle a lot in her classes though, lie math and reading.. Even if you are struggling you can’t give up. Everybody has different talents. Afraid and alone, is what Trisha always would feel.
Even if you are struggling you can’t give up. If you give up you will never achieve anything. I read a book before and this little girl wanted to quit a sport because the girls she worked with in that sport were bullying her and mocking her about how short she was and how she had to jump to touch the bar. She tried talking her mom and coach into letting her quit, but they wouldn’t let her. In the end she became one of the most famous people in the olympics. (true story) Also think of Helen Keller, she couldn’t hear or see. But she stayed with it and became a great reader and writer. I bet Helen Keller had days when she just wanted to just stay in her room and just lay there, not learn something she can’t see or hear. But she stayed with it and became a great reader and writer.
Everybody has different talents. There are some people in the world that are going to be better at something than you, and that’s okay because you are going to be better at something else that they can’t do. But if you put both of your talents together something great might just happen. Just like if you mix red and blue it makes a great looking purple. I think that God made us different on purpose, totally. If we all looked the same and did the same things and good at the same things. Life would be so boring. I’m not saying it’s bad to be alike in some ways, i’m just saying it wouldn’t be fun to be alike in every way. What i’m trying to say is be yourself don’t feel bad if some one is better at math than you are. be glad that you are maybe good at science. Trisha wasn’t the best at reading or math but she was very very good at art, Mr. Falker even held up some of her pictures to the class, and whispered in her ear “brilliant, brilliant.”
Afraid and Alone. Trisha always felt afraid and alone because she didn’t have any friends, except Mr. Falker. The only people that helped Trisha with her situation was her Grandma and Grandpa, but they “Let go of the grass”, her mom and brother didn’t care at all. She only had was Mr. falker now. Trisha was always getting teased by Eric because she would always hide under the stairs so she wouldn’t have to get teased at recess to, but one time Eric followed her and started to yell at her “toad”, “dumb bell”, “stupid”. But when Mr. Falker heard this and saw her getting teased he sent Eric straight to the principal’s office, and really put his foot down on him. Eric never bother Trisha again.
I think Trisha is actually a really inspiring person because she went through something that is now starting to occur more and more now, and I think she can really tell how she dealt with it, with her book called Thank you Mr. Falker. The book was actually based on a true story about Patricia, who was Trisha in the story. And Mr. Fulker who was Mr. Falker. I think Trisha will inspire more and more people as they read it, I hope it inspires you too, to always follow your dreams.

Never fear Mr. Falkers Here! Mr. Falker was very helpful person to Trisha. He didn’t have favorite people, he didn’t like people more because they were pretty, smart, tall, small, athletic, popular, he didn’t care. I think Mr. Falker in the book was trying his best always to show kids how amazing she really was, by showing them her art work, and always being nice to her. 20 years later Patricia saw Mr. Falker at a wedding and he recognized her and will never forget how they started their relationship that will last forever.
