Theme Writing

Matthew 7: 24 – 25

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Last year our grade went to camp and we came up with a theme verse for our 8th grade year at ZCS. Our theme verse this year, “Built on the rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a christian in the world.

It means that we are the leaders of the school. We are the leaders in small groups and in family groups also. So it means that we must be on our best behavior at all times because all the little kids look up to us. So that means that they pay attention to our actions and look at what we do around school.

It means a lot to be a christian in the world. We need to tell others about God. We need to spread the gospel. We are God’s disciples and it’s like one of the theme verses we had it was “Go” and we need to “Go” and spread the word. And also as a christian we need have good actions when we are out in public.

Now after this I hope you know what it means to be a 8th grader at ZCS and what it means to be a christian in the world. And not just that but what our theme verse means to ZCS and how it connects with us.
