My name is Molly. I am a slave. It is really hard to be a slave. In the morning I get up at 5:00 am. First I have to feed the stock then I would have to work in the house until you could not see because it was so dark. The that I ate was not good at all. There is nothing called rest when you are a slave. There were alot of reasons why you weren’t working so you had to be focused and working as hard as you could so that you would not get in trouble. My cabin is very small and sometimes when it was raining the roof would leak and I would get wet.

I was tired of being a slave so I thought that I would be able to escape the next night. It was the next day and I was working as hard as I could. Then it was night. I waited for all of the slaves and the owners of the slaves to fall asleep. When they were all asleep I got out of the cabin  very  quietly and escaped. I had to travel on foot. I thought I was a mile away from the cabin when I heard the barking of dogs. I hoped that they did not know where I was so I kept on going. A couple minutes later I saw that there was a tree with moss growing on so I knew that was north. . I was walking and I heard footsteps so I hid behind a tree  but the man had already seen me. He was a black man. Then he said -Follow me. So I did.  We got to a house and the man knocked on the door and the man that lives in the house came to the door and brought me in. He had a wife,two daughters and one son. I had dinner with the family and it was delicious. I also had dessert, it was delicious also. The man that lived in the house said that he has seen people using the underground railroad. The man that lived in the house brought to the basement  and locked the door so that I would be safe. He had a bed in the basement that was ready for me so I went to bed. In the morning I got out of bed and the mans wife had already made me breakfast and packed me some food in a bag. And I left the house to start traveling again. I was walking and Walking and I found a river so I crossed it. I was in ohio before or after I crossed the river. After a while I got to the city and I was free!!!                                            THE END!!!
