What we are learning:

This week was our most important week in school as we read and learned about the MOST IMPORTANT story there is! We talked about Holy Week and Peter’s Denial of Jesus as well as Judas’ betrayal. We then had an amazing Easter chapel and listened to the song,” Jesus paid it all,” as we colored beautiful crosses to hang on our wall in the hall. We concluded with RESURRECTION of Jesus and how great His love for us is!!! We also said our Bible verse, Matthew 28:5,6- “The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, he has RISEN, just as he said! Come and see the place where he lay.”

In math this week we reviewed addition and subtraction and took our unit 3 math test. Next week we will start a short, but fun, study on 3-D shapes!

We added the color red to our word wall board. We will continue to add colors every week!

In phonics we worked on more word families as well the sounds, both short and long, for the vowel I.

In writing workshop this week we practiced writing sentences and well as writing to our pen pals from Mrs. Bronsink’s room. We used a writing checklist to make sure we are using capital letters to start our sentences, appropriate spacing and punctuation to end our sentences.
