What we are learning:

This week in Bible we are finishing up our Bible unit on kindness. We are finding practical ways every day where we can demonstrate kindness to those around us! Even though we are done with the unit we will continue to practice kindness.:)

We added blue and black to our word wall word list. We are continuing to review list making by making lists of colored things we know or see.

In writing this week we finished our pen pal unit and had a fun pizza lunch and activities with our pen pals from Mrs. Bronsink’s class. We also started our Project Based Learning by asking questions about the animals we have chosen and writing the answers we find! If we were not working with Mrs. Arnold we did some fun phonics and word wall word table activities!

During daily 5 this week we are continuing to work on sounding out words slowly and sliding them together and covering up part of the word to make it easier to read and decode! We also are continuing our CVC practice as well as writing sentences. We are using a writing checklist to check if we are beginning sentences with a capital letter, ending them with punctuation and using spaces between our words!

In math this week we worked on finding partners for 10 and did some grocery store addition. We are working on using math during everyday life situations. Next week we will talk about setting the table and how many places we need to set or maybe take away!

Finally on Friday we had an outdoor visit from Maestra Geurink to finish our living things unit. We were able to pet goats, cats, bunnies and even a chicken!
