Spring break-March 29-April 7-Enjoy!

What we are learning:

This week in Bible we finished our Easter timeline. We had so many good conversations at the rug about what Jesus did for us and how that shows how big His love for us is. We also rejoiced in the fact that the angel said to the women, “He is not here, He is risen just as he said!” Matthew 28:6

In phonics this week we worked on the “O” word families, ot, og, op.

This week in math we continued to break numbers into different parts. Another thing we are practicing is counting on. I am working with the students to be able to hold up seven fingers, for example, and have them count the first hand as 5 and then 6 and 7. This can be a bit tricky but we are getting there!

During writing workshop this week we finished our unit on how to writing. We came up with our very own idea about what to write directions on and we were very careful to remember the words first, next and last.

During Daily 5 time this week we worked on alphabetical order as well as some spring break writing!

To close out March is reading month, we enjoyed dressing up as our favorite book character and listening to some amazing mystery readers!
