What We Have Been Learning:
Math: We have been working on addition and subtraction with in 10. This week we have also learned about math stories (story problems). This is a great way to have fun with math at home! Your children are doing very well creating and solving math stories.
Phonemic Awareness: I am so excited to hear the kids participating and doing well segmenting words and hearing sounds. There has been so much growth in the last few weeks.
Word Wall Words: This week we added to. Please continue to review reading and writing: a, at, and, am, come, go, here, I, is, look, like, me, my, see, the, this, to, up, we.
Writing Workshop: We are wrapping up our unit on pattern books and before we move toward “how to” instructions we are spending a little time working on simple sentences. We are really focused on spacing between words and handwriting.
Bible: We continue to read about miracles and Jesus’ ministry on earth. A highlight was reading about Jesus allowing children to come see him.
Daily 5: Our small group time has been focused on working on reading skills. We are working on sounding out words by slowly sounding our a word. We are also building the practice of rereading a sentence after we figured out the word.
Lexi was our friend Up In Lights last week! I was not good at pictures last week, but we all enjoyed seeing Lexi’s and listening to her favorite book about an Easter egg hunt 🙂 Lexi you are a great friend in our classroom!
