What We Have Been Learning

Writing Workshop: We began our unit on how to instruction writing by writing how to blow bubbles. We first had to make sure we knew what to do 🙂

Math: The class is doing such a great job show math expressions with drawings and using two color counters. We are writing expressions such as 5+4 or 9-6.

Phonics: We worked on cvc words and understanding we could change the first letter to make a whole new word.

Phonemic Awareness: We are listening to th, ch and sh sounds in words.

We have loved listening to our mystery readers! I was even able to be a reader for Mrs. Arnold’s class.

During Nature Rich Learning we explored motion.

Sam was our friend Up In Lights this week! We love learning about our friends and we all learned that Sam was not born in Michigan. We did not know he lived in North Carolina! Sam, thanks for bringing lots of excitement to our learning.

We loved listening to an author read her book! Peanut Butter Pie helps us remember Pause, Breath Pray. This was an excellent book in helping us calm our bodies when we feel worried. It just so happened we had a tornado drill during the read. This worked well in keeping us calm during this practice.
